RRM Volunteers ROCK!
"How Do I Get Involved?" RRM is always on the look out for folks willing to lend a hand. Whether as a docent who leads tours or as a greeter or as a behind the scenes person that keeps us "chugging" along, we could use the help!
“We are looking for exuberant people who are excited about the Railroad Museum and who are interested in the history of the railroad in Fort Bend County. If you have ever taken a tour with a docent that was very enthusiastic about the exhibit you were touring then you know how that enthusiasm can be contagious.” RRM Past President Bill Rickert
"What is a Docent?" Come to a training session and find out! Docents will be trained on how to give a tour which includes: our fully refurbished 1879 private rail car, “The Quebec," Tower 17, the 17th switch tower built in the state of Texas in 1903 and the Museum Gallery itself houses artifacts and exhibits that document the history of the railroads in Fort Bend County, along with our Caboose and the Education Station.
To be a RRM docent or volunteer, you must be at least 14 years old, complete a training session and pass a background check.
Please contact us at info@rosenbergRRmuseum.org or at 281-633-2846 to get details about our next volunteer training session date.
All training sessions will take place at the museum located at 1921 Avenue F in Rosenberg.
