    Model Railroad Camp

    Thank you for your great response this year for our Junior and Senior Model Railroad Camps! We've sold out all available spots in both our Junior and Senior Camps. Your young people have had a wonderful time and learned skills and values that can last a lifetime.

    Cub Scouts – call to set up date/time (281-633-2846)

    • Tigers - the visit/tour of museum meets the 1g Go See It -"go to library, historical society, museum… in your community. Discover how family life was the same and how it was different many years ago."
    • Wolf - 4f "Visit an important place in your community, such as a historic or government location.  Explain why it is important."
    • Bear - Tall Tales Achievement
    • Webelos – Work towards the Traveler pin --  Learn to use a map, time table, plan a trip by rail, calculate cost per mile; learn about maps and symbols; safety precautions when traveling.


    Pre-School “Beat the Heat series”

    10-am - 11-am July 23 and August 13

    Fun one-hour programs throughout the Summer that include a story, a craft and fun activities for Pre-school kids.  $5 participating child with adult/$3 for each additional child.  Guided tours available after session for $1 off adult regular admission, and kids tour free. (No pre-registration required for tours.)

    Special Interest Classes

    “Pen and Ink Art Classes”  10:00 am till 1:00 pm July 24th from 10 - 1 p.m.
    Have an artist in the family? Sign them up for our “Pen and Ink Art” class. This class will be available on July 24 from 10 - 1 p.m. Classes are taught by local artist Nina Struthers who will share her techniques and cover the basics of pen and ink drawing. Cost is $15 for members, $20 for non members and all supplies are included. Open to students ages 8-12.


    “On Track with Photography”  10:00 – 11:30 am July 10 from 10-11 a.m.
    Perhaps there's a budding photographer in your midst? Sign them up for our “On Track with Photography” class, hosted by BAC Photography and Design and taught by professional photographer Brandon Campbell. This class will convene on June 26 and July 10 from 10-11 a.m. and is open to students age 11-14. Techniques taught will include: lighting, perspective and the “Rule of Thirds.” Cost is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers and a disposable digital camera is included.
