Iron and steel - old, weathered, coffee colored, beaten by years of use, unyielding, mute items found all around us, now discards - are the media artist Jim Adams uses for his sculpture. ”This is the stuff which made our country strong and made it run,” said artist Jim Adams. Adams crafts steel people, flowers and some fantasy and abstract pieces out of things like railroad spikes and track plates. The artwork will be displayed in the expansion area of Education Station, a part of the Rosenberg Railroad Museum complex. The artist has also generously donated a piece for auction at the museum’s upcoming Gala scheduled for September 12, 2008.
